Ken and Kymme Royden
We have been dancing Argentine Tango for 11 years. Tango is a huge part of our lives and we regularly travel all over the UK and abroad to learn from some of the best-known and loved professional tango teachers. Our contemporary dance style has been greatly influenced by Homer and Christina Lados, who are hugely popular with modern jive dancers.
Before finding Argentine Tango, we both had several years experience in modern jive, which is how we met and later married. We took our Tango and mixed it up with modern jive. This created a lot of interest in the jive world, which later resulted in us being approached and asked if we could teach Argentine Tango to modern jive dancers. We are now in our 6th year and have seen numerous students of ours develop their confidence and skills in this beautiful dance.
We have discovered that our tango training actually helps us in our understanding and performance of other dance styles such as west coast swing we are also learning.
Through our own experience, we understand how such a technical dance can appear far too difficult or intimidating. We aim to break down these barriers and give fun easy to achieve classes, which will work on the technique needed to master a variety of elegant movements.
